May 2026 — Validate & Start

This was a conversations-first month. No major code shipped; instead I spent the time talking to real people, stress-testing whether the problem was worth building for, and getting the project skeleton in place before committing to a full build. June is where the heads-down building began. Plan notes.md

Goals for May

  1. 1.Validate the problem — talk to enough potential users to feel confident (or not) in building.
  2. 2.Make the build/no-build decision with evidence, not gut feel.
  3. 3.Set up the project — repo, infra, CI — so June can be pure building.

Results

GoalOutcome
Interview potential users✅ 12 interviews completed
Validate the problem✅ Confirmed — decided to build

Key Interview Insight

Asking "how do you solve this today?" instead of "would you buy?" revealed the real pain: not *unorganized*, but scattered. People tried weekly, but tools were too heavy — so they quit. Rule going forward: ignore compliments, watch behavior. Plan notes.md

Key Decisions Made in May

  1. 1.Build it — the pain is recurring and clear.
  2. 2.Start narrow — one thing, done very well.
  3. 3.Start building end of May.

Retro

What worked: Asking "how do you solve this today?" instead of "would you buy?" — that single question shift showed the truth. Twelve interviews was the right sample to feel confident. What to carry forward: Ignore compliments, watch behavior. Don't mistake validation enthusiasm for purchase intent. Plan notes.md
