Overview

All standard tools are provisioned on Day 1 by IT. Invites arrive via your company email. If anything is missing after your first day, post in #help-it on Slack. Lumen Company Handbook & Onboarding.md

Day 1 Provisioning

The following tools are set up automatically by IT before you arrive; invites land in your company email:

  • Google Workspace (email, calendar, Drive)
  • Slack
  • Notion
  • GitHub
  • 1Password

Access That Requires Extra Steps

Some tools or environments are not automatically provisioned and need an additional approval step:

  • Figma edit access — only granted to Design and Product team members; all others receive viewer access by default.
  • Linear — provisioned for engineers and PMs only.
  • Staging / Production — requires (1) completion of the security & data-protection training video and (2) explicit approval from your team lead, after which IT provisions access.

Security Requirements for All Tools

These rules apply to every tool listed above. See Security Policy for full details.
  • Enable 2FA on every account.
  • Store all passwords in 1Password only — never share or write them elsewhere.
  • Keep company data inside approved tools (Google Workspace, Notion, GitHub); do not upload to personal drives.
  • Report a lost laptop in #help-it immediately so IT can trigger a remote lock.
