Overview
Welcome to Lumen! This page walks you through everything you need to do in your first two weeks and sets out clear milestones for your first 90 days. For a broader orientation, see Lumen Wiki — Home & Quick-Start. Lumen Company Handbook & Onboarding.md
Day 1 Checklist
Complete these in order on your very first day. Lumen Company Handbook & Onboarding.md
- 10:00, 3F lounge — Pick up your laptop and security key from People Ops.
- Confirm all accounts are active: company email, Slack, Notion, GitHub, 1Password (IT sends invites by email). See Tools & Access for details on each tool.
- Save all passwords in 1Password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on every account — required by Security Policy.
- Watch the security & data-protection training video and submit the confirmation form.
- Lunch with your onboarding buddy (assigned by your manager before your start date).
- 13:30 — Sit in on the team standup; introduce yourself to the team.
First Week Checklist
- Set up a recurring weekly 1:1 with your manager (Tue 16:00) to align on goals.
- Read the Product Overview document in Notion and request a staging-environment account (IT grants access after security training and team-lead approval).
- Complete codebase onboarding: README → local setup → open your first PR (e.g. a small docs fix).
- Join the core Slack channels:
#general#eng#product#random#help-it.
